Discovery Age Port Town is a place where The King sends The Prince to roll a katamari to explore different places in time. Here, The King requests The Prince to roll up a Galleon. Discovery Age Port Town is a place where sailors and captains voyage out to find new land. Although the town itself does not seem to represent a real town, this may take place around the time period where Christopher Columbus sets out to colonize land for the people of Europe.

Discovery Age Port Town is quite massive and it is possibly the biggest stage in the entire game.
The whole stage is sectioned off into four different areas. The player starts out on an island where there is a pirate ship floating on the coast of it. Pirates, mermaids, mermen, and aquatic animals like sharks, dolphins and a giant whale can all be found around this island. The island is littered with pirate paraphernalia like steering wheels, life-preservers and barrels.
To get to the second area of the stage, the player must travel through the water and end up on a beach that's on the edge of the Discovery Age Port Town. There are normally café tables, giant crates and topiary deer that are lined up on the beach. There is a ramp that allows the player to roll into the town, which lays in an island . The town also has some buildings with tall cliffs surrounding the island. These buildings include some houses, a church, watch stores and some warehouses. Finally, the town has a port on the left side where the player may explore the rest of the stage.
The player must cross more ocean until they get to the third spot. This area is composed of two small islands, which is surrounded by some pirate ships. Both islands are stationed with cannons and have some palm trees growing. One of the islands has a pier for ships to dock.
Then, the player has to traverse the ocean until they reach the final island. This island is more dangerous than the other islands, as it is a mountainous island guarded by bone gates and baobab trees. There is an opening where it is possible to access the smaller island within it. This smaller island has an active volcano and can host some dangerous creatures like a giant squid, a giant dodo and a giant whale. The island is also covered in falling rocks and is actually loaded with some treasure chests. The Galleon ship is circling this island and has to be rolled up.

- The first achievement item the player can get is the Rosetta Stone. It is located in front of the volcano in the last area in the Story Mode.
- The second achievement item the player can get is the Ghost Ship. This can be found in the back corner of the last island in the Exact Size Challenge.
