Katamari Desktop Buddy logo
The Katamari Desktop Buddy (originally known as the We ♥ Katamari Desktop Buddy) was a desktop buddy that was available on katamari.namco.com. The buddy was made by Beck Interactive Inc, the same company that made the official website.
You can still download the installer here, but it won’t install the buddy due to the original website being down. You needed to sign up to the website to download the buddy.
The buddy was also only available in at least North America and Canada.
Features[]
The features of the buddy included:
- Being able to walk around your desktop screen.
- Being able to connect to the Internet to get the latest News, reviews, contest announcements and other things from the Katamari website.
- A link to the katamari website to help users get to the website quicker.
- The ability to send a “special email” to friends so they could download the buddy as well.
- Customization options such as different cousins and accessories.

Cousins[]
The Prince and at least three different cousins were available as customization options. You could obtain them by logging in. Each buddy also had their own katamari and accessory variations.

Multiple accessories were hidden by the king on the katamari website. Most of the known accessories seem to have variants for each buddy.
