Ryu is a cousin who has trained to become a ninja. Ryu was introduced in Beautiful Katamari. In the webcomic, he works at a dojo and is admired by Opeo.
Like a ninja, he carries a sword on his back and wears a mask that covers his mouth. He wears a somewhat standard purple ninja outfit with a fishnet shirt underneath. The sides of Ryu's head have a pink to maroon gradient.

Ryu is seen in an earlier Amazing Katamari Damacy along with a handful of other cousins, despite not providing any abilities.
Ryu’s description from the Beautiful Katamari Matching Game, when translated is: “He is said to be able to perform strange magic, but he has yet to show it to anyone because he thinks it is dangerous. He hides his mouth, so you might think he doesn't talk much, but he's actually quite talkative.”
If you listen closely, Ryu's voice is similar to Mu's.
