The Sun is the star in the center of the Solar System and everything orbits it. The Sun can be created in Beautiful Katamari in Dynaville and in Katamari Forever’s Energy Stage. The Sun can be rolled up in Beautiful Katamari and Katamari Forever, and rolling it up is the culmination of the Roll up the Sun stage in We ♥ Katamari. The sun also appears in some levels of Katamari Forever and We ♥ Katamari, more notably in the levels that take place in the Akebono Circuit.The Sun also appears in the sky of the Cosmos in Touch My Katamari, seen in The Great Journey.
Mr. Sunshine (an anthropomorphized version) also appears in the end cutscenes for We ♥ Katamari. He looks down upon The King and Queen admiring their newborn Prince.
Appearance[]
The Sun appears as a orange orb in the cosmos, the surface of the sun is visible and it moves in a certain pattern around the whole star and prominences going around the star. In the cutscenes for We ♥ Katamari, the Sun appears as a orange ball in the sky with rays of light protruding from it, in later cutscenes, the Sun has a face and visible arms and he talks in a gentle voice.
In Beautiful Katamari, the Sun appears like in We ♥ Katamari. But there is more detail to the surface, and it still has prominences around the star. The satellites for the Sun are just orange spheres with darker bands of orange going around the star.
In Touch My Katamari, the Sun is shown waving at the player from above. This time, he's light-yellow and glows brightly.
The Sun as a Katamari[]
The only instance that the Sun has ever been used as a katamari in the whole series is in the end mini-game for We ♥ Katamari. The King pushes around the Sun and rolls up all the cousins and fans in the Select Meadow.
